The Illinois Falls Prevention Coalition brings together community organizations, healthcare providers, and advocates to help older adults stay safe, active, and independent.
Why Falls Prevention Matters

Fourteen million, or 1 in 4 Americans age 65+, falls each year.

Falls are the leading cause of fatal and non-fatal injuries among older adults.

In 2021, falls caused 38,000 deaths among those age 65+, and emergency departments reported 3 million visits due to older adult falls.

Adding information to this directory link grants access to future communications from the Coalition and guarantees individuals automatic Coalition membership. There are no membership dues (fees). Coalition meetings will be held virtually every other month.

Join a Coalition Workgroup
To expand the Coalition’s impact, workgroups have been formed around three key focus areas:
- Membership & Sustainability
- Falls Prevention Outreach & Programming
- Advocacy & PolicyThese groups will meet during Coalition meetings and are encouraged to convene between meetings. Members and volunteer leaders are currently being sought to help drive progress and achieve meaningful outcomes.
